If you’re trying to remodel certain rooms of your home — especially the kitchen or the bathroom — you’re probably trying to find the perfect new floor for whatever room you’re trying to remodel. With that in mind, here’s a partial list of the many current flooring trends in 2019 and beyond that will never go out of style.
- Reclaimed wood. This trend is not only helpful for the environment, but it creates a distinct look on your floors, as well. What’s more, reclaimed wood stands up to environmental factors and high impacts (such as running children, boisterous dogs, and furniture dragging across the floor).
- Large format tile. Unlike traditional tiles, which are 12″ x 12″ on average, large format tile can run as high as 36″ x 36″ on average. The end result is a streamlined look that makes your floor look like it’s all one big slab of marble, especially if you install it with no grout lines.
- Cork. Cork is a material that, perhaps, most people don’t consider when putting in new floors. But it’s prized for its sound-absorbing qualities, making it perfect for a home that has a lot of children or pets. Best of all, it’s durable, and it looks just like hardwood without the expense that hardwood can sometimes bring.
- Textured flooring. Textured flooring is a new type of flooring style that has been on the rise recently. It mimics classic hardwood, but it doesn’t have the same expense. Styles include hand-scraped, wire-brushed and fully distressed floors.
